Just another manic Monday

It’s been a long time.

It is the last day of August, where did summer vacation go? In June, it seemed like we were enjoying our time as a family of 5 and patiently waiting for our first placement. In July, we spent our time getting to know our first placement and getting on a new routine/schedule. Having two small ones in the house sure does change things. August has been filled with trying to catch-up from July, get into the mindframe that school starts again and that we are back to the hustle and bustle of the rat race called keeping busy…

Anyways, I’m not one for much conversation so I will just post pictures to kind of catch you up 🙂

These are DSLR camera pics vs my iPhone pics that I’ve been posting like crazy 🙂

Fourth of July Pictures, party at our place 🙂

There are tons more pictures, but since a ton of them have the newest members of our household in them I can’t post them online. I will post more pictures of other things we have done, though it has been a “short” summer it has been amazing and fun.

Love y’all, Iiona

Summer 2014 Bingo

I can’t remember if I posted about this last year or not. But we are doing it again this year. Our Summer Bingo Board. Getting a Blackout will earn them a trip to a waterpark. And getting anything else will score ice cream, skate park, etc. I still haven’t figured that out completely and they haven’t asked, LOL!

But anyways, without further ado… Our Summer Bingo Board! Welcome Summer 🙂

Picking out Pictures

So I have TONS, I mean TONS of photos on my computer and stored online that have never seen the light of day. Anyways, for our Anniversary in March Isaac said I needed to find pictures to be hung in our room out of something we have taken or I have taken. So I went on a trip down memory lane and found the bottom picture (my wedding one) that I thought would be an awesome picture to enlarge and put up. He had other ideas. The first one is what he came up with, his reasoning… This is where it all kind of started.

So I had it enlarged, and it is now hanging on his side of the room. I still have to fill my photo frame and then come up with an acceptable collage to put in the wall opposite our bed.

The Struggle

So I get into my head that I want to take a picture with the family. But not an average picture, it has to be outside at a park and everyone has to be kind of dressed similar but not matchy, matchy. So then I go into our closets and start piecing together outfits, finding texture, similar colors, similar themes, etc. Ha,ha! I know right, it’s silly because the picture process struggle is beyond funny. Take for instance the photos I’m about to post here in a minute… It just so happen to be the coldest day here in Georgetown. I mean real cold! No one wanted to go do the photos, but it was too late to say no because we were all dressed and ready to go. But before we headed out to the park we had to stop at the store because Ike needed a new sweater, I needed a puffer vest as well as Miss Marie. The kiddos all needed stylish and cute gloves and that was the beginning of the end. LOL! So this photo session lasted all of 15 minutes if that, but it felt like FOREVER! Anyways, enjoy 🙂

I will crop, maybe lighten it if it’s too dark but that’s about it. The main reason I don’t edit my photos is because I’m not look for perfect, I’m looking for life. The second is Photo Shop is so time consuming and I don’t always have a ton of time to fiddle with that. Granted I keep reading that I should at least watermark my photos, which I am still trying to figure out a simple way to do that without having to import pictures to photo shop as well. I’m lazy when it comes to pictures and I want it to be simple and easy. Anyways, I love seeing the blemishes, scars, imperfections, etc. Because that’s life. My life isn’t perfect so why portray that in my photos. Occasionally if I plan on making it into a work of art I might add an overlay, but again that takes time so I might not!

Anyways, Love, Peace and Hair grease!

This is me, playing with my camera!

I really love playing with my camera. But I also don’t like playing with my camera. I tend to take wayyyyy too many pictures and then don’t do anything with them. Which I am trying to fix. But still, if you knew the amount of pictures I have on my computer, all of which I haven’t done much with, you might cringe.

I don’t have any quick wit or funny words to say because I am just trying to get something written today. It was either here or in my journal, and I felt here was easier and quicker… Lame excuse to make a post, but it is what it is.
